Consider the irony of our news media:

One outspoken Christian in America stated his belief that homosexuality is sinful. He gets suspended from his TV show at the behest of gay rights organizations' protest.

Another outspoken Christian in Rome not only believes homosexuality is sinful, but also abortion is wrong. In recent days, the same outspoken Roman Christian made news for excommunicating a priest who supports the ordination of women and gay marriage.

The American Christian is villfied as a bigot for merely reaffirming what Christian tradition and scripture teach.

The Roman Christian is named TIME Magazine's Person of the Year.

The same people profess the same Lord and the same ethical beliefs. Why the different portrayals?

Could it be that our media is selective in what it chooses to celebrate and vilify? Surely not.
