Pres. Joe Biden unveiled his family plan to Congress last week. He proposed free preschool, free community college, and paid family leave. This unprecedented government spending is bigger than the New Deal and comes with a price tag of $1.8 trillion. Biden also proposed $2.3 trillion for new infrastructure spending. The total price tag is $4.1 trillion. So how does he plan to pay for all this? By raising taxes on the wealthy, which means the middle class will eventually pay. Such lavish spending only furthers our national debt crisis. Biden told Congress that he’s “turning peril into possibility.” But a greater peril is when the federal government assumes the role of parents and tries to care of our families.
