Cancel culture is one of the most destructive movements in our society today. It says that if you hold views that don’t align with far-left policies you are hurting others and should be marginalized, lose your job, and your place in society. The latest target of cancel culture is Gina Carano who plays Cara Dune on the hit show The Mandalorian. At one point Carano was a darling of feminists but when she refused to list her preferred gender pronouns in her Twitter bio she was attacked. When activists demand that Carano be fired because she has beliefs that differ from their own it undermines important principles of conscience and dignity rights. These activists should be reminded that the same First Amendment that ensures their freedom of speech also protects Carano’s freedom of religion and association.
