According to the 2019 Nielsen Total Audience Report, half of the average American adults’ day is spent on a screen. Nielsen says that adults spend nearly 11 hours per day on their phones, iPads, computers or televisions watching, listening to, or interacting with media. This surge in screen time is changing who we are. When we spend so much time on our digital devices, we’re unable to develop solid relationships and engage in deep conversations with friends and family. We don’t have time for reading, going on long walks, or entertaining guests around our dinner tables. Media availability is a modern wonder. But if you’re consuming too much, why not reconsider how you’re spending your time. After all, we should strive to be healthier, more well-rounded people.
