If you're like nearly half of America you'll make some kind of New Year resolution. Maybe you've resolved to eat better, exercise more or spend more time with family. Whatever they might be, we all want to do better in the new year. The ever-witty G.K. Chesterton, quipped that resolutions are "something that goes in one Year and out the other." The point is that the intentions are often good, but the follow through is often lacking. We need the willpower to follow through on important commitments we've made. This means that we need to be persistent. But of course, anything worth doing, is often difficult. May God bless you with a great New Year and may He give you the strength to follow through with your resolutions especially if your resolve is to follow Him in 2019.
