2021 has been a good year for the pro-life movement. Since January, state legislatures have passed 61 pro-life laws!  Altogether, 13 states have passed laws that establish safety standards, informed consent, and fetal heartbeat laws that protect the unborn once a heartbeat is detected. The Kentucky legislature passed three pro-life laws, including a constitutional amendment declaring abortion is not a right. This will be on the November 2022 ballot for citizens to ratify. Of course, pro-abortion groups are calling this the most “damaging” legislative session in decades. But they should ask, “damaging to whom?” Certainly not the unborn whose lives are better protected. There is still much work to do in the pro-life movement, but because of state legislatures, the nation is becoming much safer for the unborn.
