Sen. Rand Paul is alarmed by health officials who are saying that schools should consider closing next year. He told Dr. Anthony Fauci and a Senate Committee that “the poor and underprivileged kids” will be hurt the most. Paul is advocating for the reopening of the economy and said: “The history of this when we look back will be of wrong prediction after wrong prediction after wrong prediction…. [and that he thinks] we ought to have a little bit of humility in our belief that we know what’s best for the economy.” He then told Dr. Fauci as much as he respects him, he doesn’t “think he’s the end-all, the one person who gets to make a decision.” Paul is right about needing more humility. But there should also be better collaboration between various leaders.
