There’s good news for Kentucky in our battle against coronavirus. The first approved vaccines will be arriving across the state in just a few days. Gov. Beshear announced that 11 Kentucky hospitals across the Commonwealth will receive the first doses of the vaccine produced by Pfizer. First in line to receive the vaccine are health care workers. The most vulnerable including the elderly and those with serious health issues will be encouraged to get vaccinated as well. Overall, nearly 200,000 Kentuckians have contracted coronavirus. The good news is that most have recovered but unfortunately [over] 1,809 have died. As we near the end of the pandemic we’re grateful that the original projections of millions of Americans dying didn’t materialize—And a great healthcare system, free-market economy, and drug companies have made this possible.
