Cancel culture has found its latest victim. This time it’s the beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss. Seus’s publisher stopped printing six of his books as they depict Asians and blacks in a caricatured and inappropriate manner. A few years ago Pres. Obama said, “Pretty much all you need to know is in Dr. Seuss.” Now, Pres. Biden has removed his name from the annual Read Across America Day. Some of Seus’s depictions may have been insensitive but isn’t there greater harm to dismiss a beloved children’s author in the name of political correctness? Now because of the move, millions of children won’t be able to experience the joy and creativity that only Dr. Seus could bring.
